skylerwaite
I just got my fog lights that i have been wanting forever on my 2000 s70. Originally they didn't have fog lights but there were these two unused wires that looked as if they could be for fog lights. So I tried to put them on a couple of minutes ago and they barely fit, the wires don't look as if they go in them at all, and furthermore they don't even reach the socket. I guess that means they aren't pre-wired for fogs? I'll probably spend the night crying in bed if this is the case.Any ideas?
adamjjohn203
The fog perwire plugs sit behind your bumper towords the bottom on each side plugged into little clips. You my be confused with the red plugs behind your headlights....I don't know what those are for. Take pics, we'll tell you if you are on the right track
skylerwaite
Thanks a bunch! I got them plugged in but they are still having a hard time fitting. Also they don't turn on. Do I need a switch?
adamjjohn203
Yes you need a switch and a "J" relay. Usually you can find them both on ebay. I'll see what I ca find for you.
AaronD81
The directions are on here somewhere, that's how I installed mine. You need the switch, a relay that goes under the dash, and also a jumper wire that plugs into another relay hole under the dash. Depending on how you plug in the jumper wire determines how the fog lights turn on.
adamjjohn203
The 2000's don't need jumpers! That's why I hav an extra jumper in my office!
adamjjohn203
Also make sure you get the front fog switch w/ the little light in the picture facing to the left.

Guest Guest
So all s/v70's are prewired for fogs?
adamjjohn203
I don't know....maybe. Look for yourself. There should be plugs behind the bumper and a plug for the switch next to the rear fog button.
skylerwaite
OK, so I have the relay and switch on the way now. Where do I put the relay?
adamjjohn203
Under the dash pull off the lower panel above the pedals. above the brake and to the left in the back there is a relay panel. The upper left spot labeled 201 is where it easily slides into. I found a pdf file for installation instructions in these forums once can't find it yet. maiku
my S70 was prewired for fogsjust needed the two relays and switchdamn simple install (but kit cost like 200 bucks from dealership)now, i'm not sure about this, but i thought 99-00 needed ECU activation for fogsor was that just S40's? adamjjohn203
Nope...like I said only one relay (J) and a switch, 99-00 models don't even use the 213 jumper (no foglight mod). That's it! I just did it last week.
