Mr Yuck
Canon A510 (2+ years old)3.2 Megapixel4x Optical Zoom (140mm equivalent)512+2gb+2gb SD memorySunpak 6601UT TripodComing Soon: .5x wide angle conversion lens + 2x telephoto conversion lens + 3 filters (which will work with an A570 IS as well)I'm planning on either picking up a TX1 or an A570IS (both are also Canon)Some sample images^ most are from the A510, there's some shots from an A520, an A620, an A540, and a few other random cameras mixed in there from when I borrowed from friends/family, no digital SLR work there.I love the fact that the Canon A### series has a range of manual controls, up to 1/2000" to 15" shutter speed, aperture controls, ISO controls, flash power controls...etc.Oh...and the fact that the A510 fits in my back pocket...that's just awesome. wmartinlsmith
ok camera gurus. instead of posting a new thread i come to you in this forum, i have a classic pentax K1000 35mm body and a slew of lenses for it from my father in-law. we are/I want to get a D-slr. now are pentax cameras the only bodys that their lenses will mate too? and if so which model should i be looking at? i was just on pentax's site and the middle road model seems to be the k-100d that is the new hotness, what other older style or bodies to shave a few dollars off the price of admission should i look at? any info would be wonderful. also we do have a digital cam its just a point and shoot cannon that we love. but i would love to use all these wonderful lenses that are just here waiting to be played., thank you all. bill

Mr Yuck
K, time to change mine:Canon A570 IS--7.1 Megapixel--4x zoom (35-140mm equivalent)--Image Stabilization (1/5 second handheld, no problem)--0.5x wide angle conversion lens for 17.5mm equiv. (part can be removed to become macro lens too)--2x telephoto conversion lens for 280mm equiv.--AA batteries (I usually use AA NIMH rechargeables)--2gb Corsair SD card. The A510 rides in the car as a spare, just in case I forget my A570IS
