Angeles Crest Cruise

Earlier today Alex, Chris, and I met up at a local In-N-Out for lunch, then hit the twisties in the Los Angeles National Forest for a few hours. Needless to say, it was an absolute blast. The weather was gorgeous, the burgers were delicious, and there was plenty of time to talk cars. Soon after we arrived at In-N-Out a couple of folks came up to us asking if we were part of a Volvo club. Turns out they were all LS2 GTO owners (plus two Firebirds) and had planned to hit the same twisties as us. They were super friendly and really respectful of our cars, despite the fact that they're putting down almost twice the power! The whole group of us did the cruise together, as you can see, and had a great time. Enjoy the pics. I know Alex probably took some even better ones, so you can expect to see some of those soon.

i guess they were "older" people huh?

Not really, just nice guys (and gal). That's Alex on the right in the second picture (in blue) talking to them (the GTO peeps). You might spot Chris in some other pics in a camo hoodie. I guess I'm behind the camera, so you don't get to see my mug.

Looks like a fun get together. Camaro  What year was it? '69?

'68--you can tell it's got the 67-68 front end, but with side markers which were mandated on all cars in 68. It has a mild build 350 backed by a T56. What actually happened is we were carving up the mountain and he was coming down the other way by himself. Well, you tend to notice (and hear!) when 5 GTO's/Firebirds pass by, so he turns around and met up with us at that big turn off, then cruised with us for another hour or so.

By the way, great pics Alex. Love the filter.
