Pops Racer

spoiled my self snd torqued off better half .bought a compressor w/all necessary gadgets. then had to fix something. front motor mount and end links . went ok both parts were destroyed. sounds easy in theory but how the hell did anyone get front 17mm bolt out from mount? some plumbing is in the way and i got lucky w/12pt box wrench and rubber mallet to pop it loose thhenuniversal 3/8 to crank it off. when reinstalled i am less than confident i was able to tighten it enough, no torq wrench there. and car steers better and rides quiter plus vibration gone at idle. also at 80mph.

Also asked around about batteries. old timer told me only a few companies amke the core and then are rebranded. here is convoluted logic: interstate makes oem volvo battery, interstate makes duralast (autozone battery), duralast is oem!

To get the front bolt off the motor mount I used an offset box wrench and a 2' cheater bar over the wrench. You'll also need to jack the motor up using a block of wood under the oil pan. Place the wood so that you support the entire width of pan so it won't buckle, etc. Also, don't jack the motor more then 1" or you will risk damaging the CV axle. If you search the forum you'll find a ton of info. Also check Bay13 here on the site. There's a great writeup.

jacked motor up as you suggested, was able to get to it ok. seems like you cant crank it down still. ill keep eye onit. seems you could get better swing from front when oil filter is out. any way it is done.

thanks for input
