Seeing how Grant LOVES the SRT-4 I thought i'd post this just to make him happy.

This is only DCR's 2.6L w/ an HP66... their estimates are over 800whp and their newer street set up for Realtune is a PT76GTS turbo on the 2.6L making 1150hp

yeah, thats pretty fast.

mike

they ran it only twice with the HP66 and said it wasn't powerful enough for them, they brought it back to DCR and told them "bigger, we want bigger"

i just dont get why they are so fugly? i guess to each his own, but i would never put this much money into a car that looked like that.

IMHO, i think that the reason why neons get a bad time is because that most of their owners are dicks. they are either women, who wanna be street racing men, or they are dudes that think that they have a lot more HP than they really have. do get me wrong there are some cool people but they are few and far between.

 engine worth twice as much as the car new

engines really aren't as expensive as you think they are unless you have one specially made or have to buy a new block. the SRT-4 block itself with built bottom end and headwork has seen over 1300whp w/o problems... the block is bullet proof, the bottom end and head are a different story.

haha in your dreams.

engine - 7199$ (w/o core exchange)

HP66 Turbokit - 2200$

Figure another 3-4000$ in supporting mods

14,000$ + 20,000$ = 34,000$ for a low 10sec street driven car... not bad considering that's the price of an EVO IX or around that of a fully loaded volvo T5 AWD S40
