sks40
I know that when it is cold, it is normal for the TCM to prevent the torque converter from locking in order to help warm up the engine and tranny. The weather has been quite cold (20 deg F) and I have been noticing that it takes a long time before the TCM allows the torque converter to lock (about 10 miles of highway driving). I have seen this happen in cars if the thermostat sticks open, but I have good heat in the car and the temp gauge is in the middle. I don't recall it behaving this way in the past. Is this normal? If not, any clues what is wrong?ThanksStan

sks40
Tsk, TskJust like I told you....stucked open I believe you 98%. It is just that the temp gauge and air coming out of the vent seem very normal. I guess if it were stuck open a little more there would be a difference and probably even throw a code. I am surprised that it would be that sensitive. I just need the time to get to the parts store and grab a t-stat. It is amazing how many other folks are having the same issue lately. Guess the cold weather bring it out.Stan
