Guest 850T-5
WELL I ABSOLUTELY HATED GOODYEAR EAGLE RSA'S AT ONE TIME AND WOULD AGREE. I ran a set a few years ago with the old tread pattern that came with a vehicle and they absolutely sucked! Dry traction, wet traction, horrible! What ended up happening is that they came brand new on my 855T. I was actually about to swap them out for something else because of my past experience and figured they were going to suck. I noticed the tread pattern was completely different from the Eagle RSA's that sucked and figured I'd set them to 34PSI all around and see what happens. Either the tire was changed or some out there are built to spec OEM RSA's that are different really suck. I'd be the last person to say it but I have to admit but the new RSA's have excellent traction and grip really well in hard cornering. In the past I've used comperable BFG's, Yoko's and Bridgestone's etc. so I definately can compare these to a few tires. Goodyear changed the tire compound and tread pattern for the new RSA's. They're actually what most Police Departments and State Patrols use and I now know why. Also if you look on Tire Rack most new reviews are very positive on these tires.Car and driver also tested several different vehicles with OE tires against one that uses RSA's against competitors. The RSA's gripped better through hard cornering.Anyway, I don't want to sound like I'm really pushing these tires because I'm just being honest. I didn't have to pay for them and exceeded my expectations due to past experiences and when comparing to other tires I've ran. For the price, probably better to buy comperable BFG's, Yoko's or Conti's which would probably perform the same for a lot less. I think Goodyears are overpriced compared to the competition. Supposely they only last about 10k-15k miles, but whatever.Good tire when new, with about 50% life they don't hook up when the road is wet and it feels like riding on stones, plus these tires are $$$ if your in that range take a look at the Pilot PS2's or the RE050A PP, I'm still deciding on the two depending on which rim I go with.
