VolvoTD
I lost my oil cap today, and need to get a replacement before work tomorrow, plenty of shops have them, its just how to get it. Does anyone know of a good very temporary replacement for the oil cap? Only going about 13 miles highway to get the cap. I know going with out something all together would just spray oil every were, but would it be that bad for just 13 miles? Someone please stop me before I do something stupid! Thanks for the input. matt b
Stuff a rag in there, so it can get sucked into the cams..Brilliant...I'd call someone before I drove anywhere. Old employee of mine didn't have his cap put on, he sprayed oil over his engine bay before he sucked a large amount of dirt on a dirt road. His engine's never been the same since...:arob:
MadeInJapan
+1 on the duct tape...cape it around the shaft area, then over the top and so on until completely sealed up.
