I've got the resin and fiberglass but I have to pick up some mdf for the baffel. Does anyone know what thickness I should get? i'm puting BA 6.5's in them. (probably going to send them between 75-100 watts rms) thanks hey how do i set up a signature?
Owned
.5 will probably be best for you. Are you going to paint them or wrap them?To setup your sig, follow the "my controls" link at the top of the page.Select edit signature from the left-hand menu. thebirdman001
havent thought about it yet, probably carpet tho. i've heard paint takes a ton of sanding. also, not sure if kick pods is the right term because they are going in the doors not on the floor. doorpods I guess
Owned
Painted glass does take a ton of sanding, if you want it to look good, that is. I've seen some nicely botched jobs on here. Most people refer to enclosures on the floor as kicks, but it doesn't much mater, I understood you. You are creating an enclosure inside the door to provide a sealed space for the speakers, right? djsaugatuck
Good luck with the fiberglass work. Pics? What is the max mount depth for front door speakers and keeping the door panel looking clean? I am looking for a nice set online and dont' want to buy a component woofer that is too deep. Any opinions on onlinecarstereo.com?
thebirdman001
I work to much and take classes at night so its taking me wayyyy too long to finish this project. I am going to try to finish off the first one this weekend. couple questions tho, how do I post pics and how do I wire across the door hinge. I have also run into a rediculous problem. I was working on the speaker pods in my driveway and had one of the speakers out to look at mounting depth and SOMEONE RAN IT OVER!!!. I wont get into venting at the fool that ran it down. I was supprised to see that it looks very fixable. The only damage is the outter ring that supports the cone. One of the mounting tabs is bent down and cracked. I will try to post pictures. WTF this project is hard enough as it is.
thebirdman001
also, what do you mean by looking clean. (I havent measured mounting the depth for the stock holes, i'm just curious). Do you mean keeping the door/speaker grill looking stock?
