Black V50 T5 was moving through traffic real quick and got in front of me as i was making a juntction change. I managed to catch up with him after the off ramp to the next highway and gave him a thumbs up, being that he was driving another t5 wagon. He kind of laughed or gave me a look and downshifted and took off. i said fuck that shit and put dropped 2nd at around 60 or so and reeled him in and blew his doors off. First volvo on volvo race for me, aside from my friends 93 240 wagon which I can beat without boosting at all. Anyone else have any 850 vs S60, 50 40 or 30 tales? Then there are people in V70R or S40T5 or T4 who want to see how fast their car is. I never force a race against an other Volvo owner but if he tries to be faster than i im always in . The first of two was a N/A 850 wagon some woman was driving, floored it past me and cut me off for absolutely no reason (wide open road, no turns, 2 lanes - whatever). So I get in the left lane to at least get off the jerk of her car and she mashes on it. Needless to say, that didn't last long.The second of two was the real shocker for me. A T-5R killing an N/A was no surprise, but when I raced some kid's (I live in a college town - everyone here is a kid lol) 05-06ish S40 T5 (the newer kind - I think it was an AWD, but don't know for sure), I could not believe how damn slow that thing was. And I KNOW he was racing, because he called for it. I never pick a fight with a Volvo even if I know I have an easy win, so he definitely brought that one on himself. It started at a light and by 60 I had a few cars on him, maybe more. After I let off, he did the customary "I lost" flyby and I eventually caught back up later on down the road. I paced him at 50mph, I see him floor it so of course I don't just sit there with my teeth in my mouth, I mash on it too. Maybe I don't give my car enough credit or something, but I literally blew his doors off. I tell ya what, I'll never waste my time owning one of those...Great kill! Serdar-S60T5 Posted February 26, 2007 Report Share Posted February 26, 2007 good kill some months ago a similar thing happened to me. in fact S60T5 vs S60T5.... it was a dark blue S60 T5 which is my car's identical twin except i don't know if it was a manual or a geartronic. he was the one who wanted to race. from around 50 mph to 110 mph i pulled him several lengths and then shut it off to let him catch me so i could give him a thumbs up and ask him if he was a manual or auto... however, he took my gesture rather coldly and took the first right turn immediately...
