soiltron
Ok, so:I got my FCR software and USB to OBD2 cable working and had to play with it today. My CEL has been on for 2500 miles or so, the PCV system has been replaced, along with the EVAP/purge valve. All other problems are gone, and my ScanGuage actually says the car's OBD emissions ready. But the CEL still comes on about 20 seconds after I start the car.So I plug in my laptop and run FCR, and the only code reported is one from the transmission (AW50-42) called "unknown code 17". That helps, eh? The car runs and drives great, but a returning light isn't exactly good news. I'd like to hunt this down and fix whatever the source is before something destroys itself. Anyone run into this? The software also tells how to pull codes LED style like the old OBD ways, but I haven't tried that yet. Also, I nabbed this cable/FCR setup from some guy in Hong Kong, on ebay. I've also seen just the cables for sale there. FYI, the software is just an FCR demo, which you can get free, and I'm sure there's a crack out there somewhere. You know, just incase you wanted to make a full diagnostic station out of your laptop for about $50 (or however cheap you can find the USB-OBD2 cable) B)
