Car ('97 850 T5) threw a code a few days ago so I stopped into schmucks and scanned it real quick. It gave me P0130 (or PY0130) and said it was a front bank O2 malfunction. So I called the stealership here in Bellevue and found that a front O2 sensor comes in at roughly 264.00. Groton has them for considerably cheaper. A regular one for 120.00 and a "aftermarket" one for about 64.00. Does anyone have experience with the aftermarket O2 that Groton has listed?

Also, last night on the way home from training the car would feel like it was falling on its face when I gave it a little bit of throttle. But if I gave it a bit more throttle it would go away and the car would lurch forward and take off. I have noticed this over the past couple of days but last night it was pretty bad. I am guessing this is from the bad O2 sensor not giving the computer the right information. Could I be damaging anything driving it like this?

Any input appreciated.

Well FCP aftermarket ones are $95 and BOsh OEM $149

PM thelostartof he can get you OEM for $120

O2 sensors are better be OEM. Will save you money later on

Gas milage hasnt been all that great the last couple of weeks. Then again I sit in stop and go traffic on both my commutes to and from work. I even see a few fellow Volvo speeders on the commute from time to time looking like they are having as much fun as me.

Car is almost at 107K on the clock and chances are its the original unit.

I also have an idiot light that comes on every now and then that might have something to do with it. Its a circle with a "!" in the middle of it and a few little lines coming off it. Anyone have a clue what that is?

well so it sounds like @ 107k miles it is about time to replace the sensor anyways

THO ... is it running rich @ lower rpms and bogging and misfiring what it feels like? and once you get into the throttle and past 3k rpms things just take off and accell fine?? if so they check the fpr as it could be bad causing a rich condition

otherwise ... eh ... could be the front 02 as it sounds like it is only running a little off its block which a bad main 02 could do

Thats exactly what its doing. But usually clears up before 3000 rpm. So can I drive it like this for a while until the new O2 arrives?

be nice to the car and you will be fine... also you can go with an aftermarket bosch O2 sensor for about 60 bucks and have no problems. They are the only thing i use at the shop and i have never had a problem...although if you are in the 99+ x70s you will have to go stock as they have a wideband front O2
