wolfie00
I've read through as many of the forums as I could but want to make sure before I spend a ton of dough that the problem isn't something else. ALL OF A SUDDEN, the key won't turn past first position. My mechanic says the ignition is frozen and needs replacement. Do they just GO all at once? No problems to BIG problems? Any ideas? Thanks. BtownVolvo
Yeah they have to get you a new tumbler. This happened to me a couple months ago and only the dealer can do it <_<
MrWinkey
Thats odd I don't see one of these for months/year and wham 2 in a row same day. I'm having one towed in as I write this for the exact same issue it's a 98XC . I'm sure it's in the tumbler as already said.
maiku
it's not a stupid problem like moving your steering wheel so it unlocks the key stop, right?
Steve B
it's not a stupid problem like moving your steering wheel so it unlocks the key stop, right?Try turning the key over. Yes, I know that sounds stupid but it works. This problem has happened to me a couple of times. Just keep working it, the steering wheel, the key, eventually, all the planets will line up and the key will turn over. Please remember to keep your golf vocabulary in check.
