General Disarray
Does anyone know how to put a water pump into a 95 850 turbo? When I got the old one off it just fell through and landed on the floor, but the new one, no matter how hard I try, will not go into where I need it to go. I have tried to go down in from under the hood, but it hits the block and the pipe the ecu lines run through and gets stuck, I have also tried going from under the car and nothing i have tried will get the water pump into where it needs to go. I did search before I started this post too, and my haynes manual isn't really descriptive. Thanks for any help
shurgen
The pump has to come from underneath. I had a hard time putting mine in a year ago. If I remember correctly I had to get it in from as far left as I could and had to stick it in with different angles. Just keep playing without forcing and getting pissed off, it will go in eventually. Again, use different angles. Turn it several times as you put it inthat hole between engine and body. Good luck
kilseany
Much easier if you take off ALL the pulleys, and tensioner, both serp and timing
Phil94850
display, you have to take off the timing belt to remove the waterpump. soooo.. basically youll have to replace the timing belt as well. the waterpump is driven by the timing belt... here is a write up about how to do it...look for the link "timing belt "http://www.volvospeed.com/maintence.htm#Engine

General Disarray
Yea, I took the T-belt off, should I change it though, since it was just replaced in November? I guess it was just from a long day because I am replacing the head gasket too, and have the head sent out to get checked for problems, a valve job, and resurfaced. I should be able to go back out and try it again Wednesday after my scrimmage. The orange arrow part is a little old, I haven't changed it yet, but the symptoms were, major slipping, not moving from a stop, over revving to get to speed, and delayed shifting. I just know the blinking arrow usually=$$$ since I experienced it with both of my 850s.
