skylerwaite
For starters my car has 111,xxx miles on it, oil changes at 4000 miles since I got it June of last year. It seemed like a couple of weeks ago I started noticing a puddle of stuff where I was parked. I thought it was coolant since my coolant seemed really low, so I filled that back up. Now it looks like there is oil all over my engine bay. I can't tell where it is coming from or anything. Car also has a slight bogged down sound right before the turbo kicks in at WOT (I may be ust hearing things, hah). I am taking the car in on Wednesday since that is the earliest time I can get it in. Anything would be helpful.
skylerwaite
No one knowssssssss? I think it could possibly be coming from the oil pan? Maybe the oil line to the turbo?
Reeves
No one knowssssssss? I think it could possibly be coming from the oil pan? Maybe the oil line to the turbo?I had that problem with my 99 v70R with 168k and the final assement was that it blew out my dipstick tube, i guess there is sometype of valve somewhere that stuck (like a pcv) and that is why i had oil blow out my dipstick tube. it has happened twice in two years on my car, but only when it was sub zero out. my mechanic did not really have much of an answer for me other than that valve must have stuck. it has been working fine for over 6 months now, either that or i have ecessive blow by and need a rebuild. next time it happens i will do a compression test. MadeInJapan
You need to replace your PCV system on your car immediately....that's what it is....at 111K miles, it's way over due.
skylerwaite
the entire system or just the valve?
Oreo931
the entire system or just the valve?that question makes no sense.the whole pcv system...no valves...

Oreo931
hmmm so then at 164k it would be way WAY overdue I take it???? Since you have an N/A I believe the process is much easier, but I am not positive. You have a flame trap.uh... there's no pcv valve in the pcv system?i just looked it up to be sure and i guess the valve is the whole system. There is no PCV valve. Maybe you are thinking of the oil trap/breather box? Anyways, if you do one part, you might as well do the entire thing. Do it, and do it right. Also, Reid, why would he need coolant for the PCV system?
BtownVolvo
Also, Reid, why would he need coolant for the PCV system?I'm not sure about -98 but 99 has the radiator hose right in the middle of everything. So i took mine off and had to drain some of it.Ok it took me by suprise so i grabbed the quickest thing i could find::lol:

BtownVolvo
Also, if you do it yourself, the three pronged line on the far left was a B*I*T*C*H!!I spent the vast majority of my time getting that back in there...
