Denovae Posted March 23, 2007 Report Share Posted March 23, 2007 Laugh all you want...My car got towed for being 8 feet from a fire hydrant that is positioned at 45 degree angle behind a tree 10+ ft from the curb. It was dark when i parked and theres no lighting on the street. I swear i freaked out when i couldn't find my car, i talked to the police and he laughed... all he said was that the officer who called it in must have hade a bad day and nothing else to do than measure 8ft... 10ft is the law in dayton, oh and i guess they can't just give you a 2ft leeway. son of a poking oh yeah! nugget.I called the guys who towed it, they refused to explain how they got my car out of gear and the e-brake off... so now i'm super pissed off... I know i'm not low of brake fluid so my e-brake should've held strong... either they broke the window or scratched around the inside of my door to get the door unlocked and screwed up my window. it was parked less than 12hrs at the location and I'm just... about to starting to hate cops more and more. dayton has one of the highest crime rates in the whole god damn country and they are worried about 24 inches of curb space. what about all the god damn people shooting, stabbing, and robbing each other? huh? oh wait they're all minorities so the cops just let them do it and want to sit there and monkey with a student's car instead in hopes of making a quick poking buck. the cost is 95 $ towing 45$ storage and 35$ for the fire hydrant ticket... and ontop of that they say i got a parking ticket that i didn't pay over a year ago... I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE MY PLATES then! I don't even want to fight it because a lawyer will cost me 400$ and this will only cost me ~200$...Next time i see a cop getting beaten i'm just gonna turn my back and pretend i didn't see it. monkey them twenty - four inches of curb got their 5'10" 300lb jerk out of their impala and chubby hand off their cola to write me a ticket and call the towing service... what a waste of oxygen that officer must be./end rant Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
CAPT_BLOTTO Posted March 23, 2007 Report Share Posted March 23, 2007 thats I'm dumb dont get a lawyer just fight it in court.as turning your blame onto other stuff thats not really gonna help.I have fotten several tickets without lawyer and although I only won one I got most of them reduced. Denovae Posted March 23, 2007 Author Report Share Posted March 23, 2007 Since I'm leaving tomorrow morning for army training in indianapolis my sister is coming down tomorrow around noon from chicago to pick it up and pay for it. I left money, and keys with a good friend who has directions to the court house and impound lot who is going with her. God i love siblings. she was on her way to PA tomorrow anyways so it's a detour but not too horrible.I told her to take pictures right away when she sees the car before paying for the towing service so incase something happened to it she has photo proof in order to press charges or have them pay damages. I won't even go into the amount of ignorance in that statement, but yeah... you've obviously never been to dayton, ohio. the majority of the crime is minority on minority. dayton public schools for K-12 are ranked in the bottom 10% for education, 7/100 in the population have committed a felony PER YEAR. Durham has a higher assault rate than dayton, along with a slightly higher theft rate. but thats cool, since I don't think you've ever been to Durham, NC, have you?but yeah, I hope your car is okay, I get pissed off when people slam my doors -- imagine how pissed I'd be at it being towed? HtownTurboBrick Posted March 23, 2007 Report Share Posted March 23, 2007 dude, stop complaing about it n do something about. you hate how the cops are do something, but do not ever dis cops like that. my dad spent 15 years of his life protecting and serving and i spent 15 years wondering if he was gonna come home that nite. i don't care how much you dis-like, hate, whatever you wanna call it, if you see a cop getting hurt you pick up that phone n u get him back up. 1 cop dicking with you does not justify turning your back on another cop who's in jeopordy. theres several members on this board who are cops and i doubt they'd take very kindly to your words either. you're joining the army? you'll learn what it is to put your life on the line for someone else. my dad was a 2nd lt. in the 52nd airborne army rangers. the majority of his life was spent protecting and serving, i have nothing but respect for cops n soldiers.as far as your car goes, that sucks man. n they never have to touch your e-brake, windows or open your door for that matter. a flat bed n a good winch is all they need. they will drag your car for all its worth when they want it. n 200 for everything isn't bad. down here its $250 for the tow n impound alone. the other fines are double what you're getting. also are you sure your sister can pick up the car? down here you have to be the registered owner to get the car out...but then again a cute girl can get away with it. my buddy got arrested n his car towed, n his gf got her car towed the same night to the same lot at a different location. my buddy's brother coudln't get his car out, but she got her car out even tho her registration was under her dads. she just had to batt an eye at the guy. An experienced driver with a winch is an impressive thing to watch. Strap it to the frame and pull that sucker right out of the spot. Used to leave tire marks. Car gone in 7-8 minutes.
