Yellow95 Posted March 26, 2007 Report Share Posted March 26, 2007 Trying to make my Volvo go fast is stupid. Yesterday I got to test drive a 2007 Subaru WRX STI. One of 800 in North America, I think. Everyting about that car is amazing. Subaru has everything Volvo has, only better. It's sad because I love my car.I also test drove a 95 T-5R down at the dealership. I must say, I was extremely dissappointed. When we were pulling back into the dealership I realized it was is friggen economy mode. I didn't want to bother them anymore since I wasn't going to buy the car anyway so I just left it at that.What color was the R and what did they want for it? How many STI's can you get and whats the insurance layout? Oh yeah, cops don't pull over Volvo wagons, like they do STI's. Just like a red 'Vette, your marked. It has cost me maybe 12k total to buy the car, mod it and maintain it 2. My insurance is $800 a year 3. It's basically invisible to cops4. Very exclusive5. Very safe6. Very comfortable7. I can pull on most other cars on the roadYou gotta remember that these aren't sports cars, they are sport sedans (read Sweden's take on the Taurus SHO)Comparing an STI to a turbo'd Volvo is like comparing apples and oranges. I didn't want to bother them anymore since I wasn't going to buy the car anyway so I just left it at that.I have almost the same car as you do and on firday afternoon I raced a brand new Sti from a roll to about 100 and he only pulled two car lengths on me. And thats with me on a tune that desperately needs revision and an autotragic. I really thought that the STI would pull on me alot harder. Give me a month and it will be an even race at worst.
