Deuss
Ugh so i had a very stressfull day at work.. so I was looking towards my ride home where I can just drive as fast as I want down the highway and enjoy the nice warm weather.... Well about half way in to my ride home I reached a car that was driving slow so i got in to another lane and pushed the gas to the floor, boost kicks in, car goes faster, i feel wierd vibration and boom i felt like i ran over something, i look back and my plastick underbelly that protects my front part of the engine flew right from under the car............ I mean wtf I was so emberassed..... and shocked how in the hell could it come loose.............Well thats it. I was just wondering where I can buy one, or maybe an upgrade like a skid plate. would it work better then Plastic OEM one?

Jaxx
thats the splash guard, it really isn't that nessisary, but I would get a new one if you know that your front end scrapes, because you could potentially damage the intercooler, AC condensor, and radiator. JHEIII874T5M
Nicely done... I can't even remember how many zipties I've had to put on mine over the last few months to keep the passenger side up after the tab broke off.I'd just find someone on here that has one, or find a junkyard to throw another stock replacement on. Or, of course, IPD has their skid plates.

matt b
Did you go back and pick it up? Reminds of the time I had to swerve at 75 mph to avoid a couch that fell off the back of a truck on I-26. Even in my Mini and its great handling, I almost lost a pair of good pants. You should look at aluminum skid plates and such, the orginal skid plates tend to lose their tabs and break off over time. Where are you getting it from, IPD ?Let us know about the install, I'm curious about it. I've used them on VW's a lot, and loved them, but never a Volvo. Karlson
if you got turbo, and looks like you got t5, then you should get new one. splash guard brings more to your intercooler
Jena
No I did not, I could not stop and turn around I was on a toll road. yep sounds like alum skid plate is the plan. and a few tek screws. You should have immediately pulled over on the side, run back down to where it lay, pick it up and haul it back to your car and throw in the trunk or back seat, all while avoiding oncoming traffic.I see people doing that all the time when their cars fall apart while driving. Nothing to be ashamed/embarrassed of...But you kind of should be ashamed that you left a piece of your car in the road... Tsk tsk tsk.

aldebaran
I left my sunroof on the highway before. GASP! Shame shame, Adam....Actually it could be kinda dangerous to go pick up car parts on a busy interstate. If it were me, I wouldn't on the interstate either. Owned
You should call the State Police and have them do it.Or in some states the Highway Dept. may take care of it. Here, it's generally the troopers.
