AaronD81
Buy a K&N cleaning kit. My drop in came pre-oiled so you shouldn't haveto worry about it for a while. Dirty side= bottom where air comes in, Clean side=top next to MAF. Basically to clean it you run water from the clean to dirty side. Then let it dry and spray the oil onto the dirty side. Think about it for a minute and it's pretty logical.
Phil94850
thanks aaron... i think i got it... i didnt wanna mess up my sensor or anything. do u think it helps with performance ??
AaronD81
Not really, I had a cone filter and it was a little louder, but the drop in didn't do anything noticable. Basically my old one was bad and I really bought it because it's cleanable so it should save me money if I keep the car long enough.
maiku
it's just something that you can add to the modlist with little or no gains in performancesorta like an RIP
Guest 850T-5
Most importantly as mentioned, do not overoil, just lightly. Also, do not oil the top (AMM side). Always oil the bottom. Some of it will natrually be sucked through as you drive which will distribute it to the other side. If you oil the top it is a lot more likely to contaminate your AMM sensor eliment.
SteveO
Also let the oil dry overnight, it is a wax impregnated oil that will dry to a semi solid consistancy. Letting it dry completely will help prevent MAF comtamination.
Jaxx
yeah, let it sit for a while to let it dry up a little, at least overnight.btw - where in IN are you?
