Joe, take a chill pill! you are starting to push it.

so where do we place bets for the "What's this light on my dash that stays on and says check engine" thread? What do you have the boost set at?

Help a guy out, he didn't know that ME7 is such a stupid system. he thought thats the as on 98 or older

 I'm sorry, do I know you?

Actually, ME7 is "smarter" in many ways than the other systems which is what is causing difficulty. Please "Karlson" do not confuse this thread with your ignorant banter.

So explain that! I hope you are being sarcastic, cause you never explained to the skylerwaite what he needs to do. and please don't take it seriously about my banter. It is my personal issues

Bear in mind ME7 has a MAP sensor as well. :) Skylerwaite should be well aware by now that the wisest solution would be a software upgrade. Rica does a terrific job and I would highly recommend contacting user name "jross" for the upgrade.

Here's an explanation recopied from above:

Can you put a MBC on an ME7 car?

Yes you can control boost with the control on a me7 car but it will not function right when you hit ur max boost allowed by the ecu. The ecu has a varible to where the boost is to be set. When you use a Mbc you change the whole boost curve and the computer can see that. Also it can see when u go over the set boost limit. Then what it will do it pull throttle and lower boost down. 1st and 2nd gear feel normal cause 1.3 Bar is not reached. But when you get into 3rd gear you will Build boost then reach your max boost then the ecu start yanking your throttle shut cause it has seen too big a difference in boost. So really the answer is you should control boost through the ecu and no the boost controll wont work properly not unless you have some sort of electronic bleed on the MAP signal. We are working on some sort of piggyback systems for the me7 cars. Just alot of tinkering to see what works and doesnt. Hope that helps.

jeez, you guys think i'm dumb. granted, i'm sure all of you have a lot more knowledge and experience with these cars than i do, but if nothing bad is happening then why take it off? if you could show me one case where a significant problem has arisen with a 99+ and a mbc then i will happily take it off that very instant.

i've also been keeping it under 3000 rpms while my pcv system needs replacing, with the exception of tonight.

I think you are very dumb. There are experienced people on the board and you just arent listening to them. You are trying to increase boost on a car with a clogged PCV. If you think you are JUST going to be paying to replace the PCV then you are very wrong...A clogged PCV means that the crankcase has no where to vent it's pressure, so it starts pushing oil out of anywhere it can, AKA your seals. It will start with your cam seals, then eventually go to your rear main seal. But hey, if you have the money for all the extra repairs then I guess it doesnt really matter. Otherwise, back off the boost until you get that PCV changed.
