skylerwaite
well, we got eveything worked out after about 12 hours of work. although there still seems to be some minor problems that i'm not too sure what the causes are. when i first started it up, there was white smoke coming from what looked like the turbine and also out of the exhaust. i am praying that this is just the oil burning off. the only reason i would think otherwise is that upon closer examination it looked like it may have been seeping out of the block just above where the turbine is.there is a definite leak of something because where i park there is a big pool of stuff. but it's hard to tell because the ground is already wet and it all landed in a puddle. Is your oil level or coolant level down? My money's on coolant, because a pool of oil you wouldn't be posting.
skylerwaite
my dipstick for my oil is broke so i had to order a new one from the stealership. it's on the way. i keep having to fill up the coolant but it seems to be staying now. i will have to take a look at it a little later tonight to see if it's gone down again. The coolant you'll have to fill up a couple of times, as you noticed, when you do a turbo swap if it all drains out. That's normal, what's not cool is the puddle under your car. Anyway you can touch it or taste it? Does it feel thick, oily, or taste sweet like coolant?
skylerwaite
there is no ticking. however when i took it out today and went WOT i blew the intercooler pipe right off. i guess i didn't tighten it down good enough the first time. but it's fine now. the white smoke the second time i went WOT after i got the pipe back on was coming out reeaally bad out of the exhaust. either that or it was just blowing back from the motor. it was hard to tell, but it was like white smoke that covered a three lane the highway. i wish i could describe the smell. almost like rubber burning, but less pleasant.i went out and stuck my finger in the puddle of stuff, it's rainbow-y so that led me to assume it is oil. it pretty much just felt like water. i didn't really feel like tasting it. Jaxx
oil and water mix?are you using synthetic oil or old school oil?
skylerwaite
synthetic. if it is just oil burning off (still crossing fingers) how long should that take to burn completely off?
thelostartof
10-20 min drive .. anything longer than that and you have a leak

BlackT5
Just take a wrench and make sure all the oil/water connections are tight. Also be sure you got the copper washers on the banjos.
skylerwaite
i think it is probably the copper washers. i wasn't sure to put them where the lines connect with bolt or the line to the turbine. or both?
thelostartof
there should be ONE on each side of the banjo fittings.... which is one on the top and one on the bottom and then the banjo bolt goes through it and bolts to the turbo so you need 6 total .. the kits i am starting to sell come with 8 so you have extra's
skylerwaite
whoops. well that would probably explain it. although the smoke is a lot better than it was yesterday.
