Phil94850
My CEL came on and i read the codes and one is 522 the rear o2 sensor and the second code is 123- engine coolant temp sensor. Im sure my o2 needs replacing the car has almost 200k on it and its never been replaced, the one i have a question about is 123. I read on Bay 13 that usually this code comes up when your thermostat malfunctions and the car wont heat up and the ecu keeps the car in a rich mixture thinking the engine is cold. Another indication is your temp gauge wont go to the 3'oclock position. My question is.. my temp gauge goes to the 3 oclock and the car heats up fine. Ive always noticed though my a/f gauge always stays on the rich side most of the time. Why am i getting this code ? Faulty sensor ? ive read that this is a common problem ? Ive read about people putting certain degree thermostats in there cars ? where do u guys recommend getting the parts for this problem ( thermostat & new sensor ) if thats whats needing replacing.... thanks for any help..
