The rear decks are not really worth it to replace if you ever plan on doing a sub. I disreguarded this advice and had some decent 5x7's cut out of their stock mounting plates and molded into the plastic housing that volvo puts back there. If you put some new foam as a seal to the trunk it will sound suprisingly good... but due to their location they will never sound great. Either way, I couldn't find 5x8's that would fit while keeping that stock plastic housing back there. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Zevu Posted April 11, 2007 Report Share Posted April 11, 2007 I used some JVC 5x7's for the rear, they fit nicely and give really good bass. Rear doors are 6.5", I used JVC's there as well, but I couldn't fit the factory speaker grill back over them because of the higher tweeter. Front doors are 5.25" and I used...once again JVC, they worked great, used factory holes that lined up factory grills fit over them no problem. Dash tweeters are 4" tweeters, I found some pioneer ones that will work but I haven't got around to installing them yet. No model numbers on anything, just giving you an idea.
