E_S80
I want to put in a boost gauge for my S80 T6 before I get a ECU tune, but I'm not sure how it works when you have twin-turbos and what type of gauge I should get for it.I've also never installed a boost gauge by myself and I would like to try it instead of pay a mechanic to do it since I've heard it's a rather simple process. Can anyone point me in the direction of some good instructions or give me a basic outline for a S80 boost gauge installation?

Pull a vac line off the intake manifold and run it to your gauge. The only thing that will be different will be what gauges you splice. On that I have no clue. See if there is a wire labeled "splice me for a boost gauge" maybe
volvo4lif3
i believe there is a how to thats pinned under the performance section. It would be the same way as any other boost install. Run your hose through the firewall and tap the vacuum tree. Other things are associated, but its rather basic. Autometer makes a good gauge at a reasonable price. I've got a brand new one, never been used, with all parts id let go cheap if you want.
E_S80
Well I think I've got it pretty figured out. I'm away from my car right now so I'll have to take a look at it later to see it all for myself, but my next problem is the mounting. I've taken a look at Lotek pods and they don't seem to make any for a S80. Also, I've heard about Rodpods, but I really don't feel like sending off parts of my car for 2 weeks and spending $200+ to mount a boost gauge.... Are there any other options for me or am I left with mounting it on the steering wheel, dashboard, etc. or throwing $200 to Rodpods?
E_S80
Just remembered seeing this on cardomain... Does anyone think this is possible without doing too much damage to the stereo cluster and everything? And does anyone know if this guy is on volvospeed? I could just PM him and get the info if he is. He was this guy: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2406984

SkyWriter
Yeah I realized that too after searching around a bit. I guess I'll just have to be creative and figure something out.www.ipdusa.com (you won't find it on the website yet) is coming out with data logging software that will let you read over the ODBII with a USB equiped laptopRPMMAF BoostIgnition angle Boost target or Turbo control valve DCFront O2 sensor(s)http://forums.swedespeed.com/zerothread?id=72061&page=5not sure if there is realtime support for reading the values. but it would probably be cheaper than buying both boost and AFR gagues.the software is an add on package for their customer loadable ECU upgrade product.FWIW your stock boost is 8psi, and most ECU upgrades will take you to 15 psi.also you can get a set of new PEGS from boston volvo. you can email John at parts@bostonvolvo.com
E_S80
I've read all about the IPD Softloader and the diagnostic software, etc all looks awesome, but it's a lot of money for me. So for now I'm going to stick with a boost gauge. If I save up enough money to get the Softloader and everything else with it then I'll just sell the gauge or something.
