Guest Guest_cstem_*
Okay- My U.S. spec 1.9t V 40 runs great, but when hitting full throttle under acceleration, the car seems to lightly buck. I notice no real rpm flucuation and get no codes. It does not always do this, maybe 50% of the time and only when putting the pedal to the floor. Anyone? Anyone? What year? There are two possible scenario......one is that you need an software update for the tranny regarding flaring/surging between 2-3 gear.second, Time for your tranny fluid flush. Recommend on these model around 35-40K interval. We have notice they're very sensitive to dirty transmission fluid (even if they only look slightly brown)
Guest 850T-5
After checking/taking care of the above recommended. If it continues I'd suspect the AMM. That's what they tend to do when they're on there way out, usually on hotter days in most cases.

cstem
whats the AMM?yeah what is that? The trans fluid was flushed by me when I worked at a midas just 3k miles ago. The year is 2001 (put in headline but not body of post) and as far as the software upgrade- Is it software only on do I need the new TCM? If just an upgrade should Volvo take care of it for free since it is a malfunction or am I doomed to pay for this? Thanks!

Anyone?hi. i am really suprised as few people notice this, as do. i've always hated it, and its pretty normal. why? i have no idea. i just know that about all those cars do that. i have driven plenty of brand new ones that do. it has nothing to do with the software issues, which are completely diffrent on 40 series cars, anyway. its just a weird characteristic of that series, primarily earlier models, (pre 03). hope that eases your mind a bit, it doesnt really seem to ever pose a problem. Guest Guest_cstem_*
You mean that they all do the buck and surge? I am aware of the upshift flare and downshift bump- that is not my issue. It feels almost like it is running out of gas. I am doing the fuel filter firsxt, then goin got check the fuel pressure for regulator troubles.
