Congrats on the purchase and welcome to VS. Now that your on here expect all the money you have to be sucked out like a 1000hp vacume!!!! I am pretty sure I have bought my car about 3 times over and then some... and the vacume continues....

Best of luck with the modifications. I would suggest just going with nitrous instead of a turbo or s/c due to ease of installation & uninstallation (for california smog purposes).

I second that. If you are just looking for a little extra and some good handling, do the suspension real nice then drop a small shot of nitrous in there and have a ball. It is the only real option without spending thousands, just be careful and do your homework.

Yeah, that's honestly all I'm looking for from this car. It's a great all around everyday driver that is super comfy. BUT, I would like to do some sort of power upgrade. I have been considering nitrous but only in a reserved dose that won't compromise the integrity of the engine. Any suggestions on nitrous setups?

Id worry more about the tranny blowing than anything else, as it is, they break on stock cars with zero mods.

Id focus on exterior mods, your talking a lot of money to get it to even 14 second range and still then have to worry about blowing stuff up.

Easiest way to get more horespower would be a progressive nitrous system with rpm window switch to turn off the nitrous as the tranny shifts. If it was turbo id do a single nozzle, but since its NA, to be safest id go with a port injection.

I would stop while you're ahead. I have an '03 T-6 and as I "try" to make some improvements on my car, I find out more and more each day that the S80 is one of those cars that God doesn't want you to try and make much better than it is. I've spent (wasted) thousands or dollars, and tons of time trying to get stuff to work properly in order to make my car more than it is, and in retrospect, I can't say that it is worth it...

Ding ding ding....very accurate description. Hell, look at blue book values. The 01 s80 t6 went for in the 40's, but can be had for 8-9 grand. A 95-97R will go for that much, and its 4-6 years older. Something wrong with that picture. I'm picking up my s60 2.5T tomorrow, and can't wait till I Do.
