Compression Ratios

has anyone bumped up the compression ratio of an N/A? is it safe to run 11.5 or is it a no clearance set up with the valves, so it cant be machined down.

I took it up a little on a 94 but I do no think that much. Changed the cams and shaved the head down. Was not my care though so I never took the time to measure the head to recalculate the CR. Best 1/4 was mid 14s I think/

Been ages since I worked on K-dawgs car. It has a lot of work on the head and intake done. Everything was bored and matched, a lot of emissions were by-passed. I have a list of everything I did. I will dig it out at some point.

where did you get these cams?

LPT's 9:1

HPT's 8.5:1

NA's 10.5:1 or 10.3:1 depending on EMS used.

??? I don't remember ever seeing 10.3 before - can you tell me more about how it depends on the EMS?

Is a 98R the same as the HPT block ?
