Pnp Switch Needs Calibration?

Help diagnose my problem...

I will get transmission warning light SOMETIMES, when either at a stop or at a very very very slow coasting roll. Could this be the car not knowing it's in 1st gear? After I got my new transmission I noticed that my shifter sits kind of loosely in the "R" position.

I figure pnp is most likely it, but what I don't like is that when I get my warning light the car seems to shift pretty rough into gears. Is this the tranny playing it "safe" by giving me harsh shifts? When I have no light the car shifts like silk still, but with light it seems to take on a whole nother character.

Another side problem is that my temp reading on the trip computer went to "HI" today after the car was sitting for about 5-10 minutes. After a bit of driving it'll settle down to high 90's, but it is deffinitely not that hot out. I know there is a temp. sensor somewhere in the car, could that be clogged up? If so, I'd like to know where it's at...Thanks

Found the temp. sensor. It was around a turbo hose ;) , haha, so go figure the hot temperatures. Is there a place that it plugs into?

I was aware of all other codes, except my throttle position sensor for the tranny...

So, would it be safe to say that I need to recalibrate the pnp switch? It's a fairly new one, I just think my mechanic hurried up in installing it, and didn't put it back to perfection...I guess over time it finally caught up with me though, because I'd get the tranny flashing light once a month or so, and now I get it like 7 out of 10 times the car is in 1st gear...

One more thing...

Upon looking at the car, I noticed that it's NOT my new pnp switch that WAS in the car. My darn mechanic put in a whole nother one  , so now it's a possibility that this obviously older pnp switch is going bad, but that is not important if that indeed IS the problem because it will get fixed. My next question is having the car in safety mode for the next couple days...will that cause any tranny mechanical problems? I still want it to be healthy.

The PNP switch isn't what makes it show up like it's almost in "R" when it's in park, thats a cable adjustment. Your flashing arrow is caused by the code thats stored in the A1 socket, think about a new TPS sensor for your throttle body.

Your engine codes tell me you more than likely need to install the Knock Sensor Kit to fix the two Knock Sensor codes you have.

Your EGR system needs cleaning, and your EVAP valve more than likely needs to be replaced.

I'm sorry, what I meant was that when the car IS in "R", the shifter fits loosely as compared to when it's in "D" and it fits nice and stirdy.

And do you think my tranny can suffer some damage from being in safety mode too much?
