skylerwaite
i am really considering getting one of these at just $200. i was just wondering if anybody had used one before and the results they have had. it seems like it would make perfect sense to just to put one of these on instead of the $1000+ people spend on downpipe and exhaust products. VolvoKid4Life
I have thought that same thing... but you will still need a larger downpipe even if u had a cutout.JR
thelostartof
if you want a real gain go with a 3" downpipe and then elec cutout and 3" cat and then stock cat back ..as the stock downpipe even wide open sucks goat nutshttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KFot2mK424they are loads of fun

Guest LarsonsCause
For starters anyone who pays $1000+ for a downpipe is crazy. When they can be custom made for much much much less. And I agree any real gains would be had from going to a bigger downpipe and then a cutout. 3" downpipe and then the cutout. TheOtherWhiteMeat
Chris (Ratty R) has the QTP cutout on his 850. Here's a video of some runs with the cutout open: http://videos.streetfire.net/search/854+r/...8d300386626.htm

meatman10523
one of my buddies has a quicktime electronic cutout on his STi, it was welded into his aftermarket downpipe and he uses a stock exhaust. its a very nice combination....when it works....screws would have a tendency to back out and the motor just died after about a year of use. it comes with a plate that screws on as well so he can take it out and fix it w/o having to drive around with it open. He does use his more that maybe its designed for, opening and closing it whenever he wants to get noticed..haha...overall i would call it a good mod however it may be higher maintenance that i could see most volvo owners wanting
VolvoFan
Do a search and you'll find more info about these. I've got one. I like it. It makes a big power difference. It's a QTEC. It leaks a little and is difficult to seal. I'm going to replace it with a McCord power plate b/c the switch design makes it easier to tell "open" and "closed" and the gears in their motor supposedly do not backlash as much, eliminating much of the leak. Refer to my first sentence if you have questions... many on the board have been through this in detail before.-Jon
