mikie
Check it out, I noticed a crack in my tire several days ago... the tire is not loosing any air, but it seems somewhat dangerous no? I'm scared the tire is gonna just burst under higher then normal pressure (hitting a bump, high speed...)

Volvo Virgin
Looks like a retread.Seriously....that's what my buddy's Peterbilt tires look like when they start to go south.Never actually saw it on a passenger car tire.FYI.....All tires made today have a "born on " date.....like Budweiser. It's usually located down by the bead in a little oval shaped marking. It will read something like 4205,which means the tire was manufactured in the 42nd week of 2005.The DOT recommends that no tire over 5 years old is used and should be replaced regardless of tread depth. And obviously replace those tires immediately.
