dynamok
I'm replacing power steering pump this weekend, and somewhere on the forum I found a recommendation to use Valvoline SYN Power Steering Fluid (Synthetic blend with add-ons).Then I went to NAPA today and asked them to check how much of it I will need. They said that Volvo is recommending transmission fluid to be used for steering. So, which one should I use? Thanks
S80 Tsixer
hmmm-since volvo made the car , i would go with ATF. Most stores assume they take power steering fluid and the valvoline works great if your car takes that kind of fluid(i have it in the cavalier)
Guest 850T-5
Maybe with like an old Volvo or something if the power assist was weak or PS pump was making noise but I would NOT recommend anything else but what Volvo specifies in the owners manual, which is probably Dexron ATF I imagine.
