S60 Hu-850 Sub Install

Hi All,

Need Help WIth Sub Install on a 2005 S60 HU850 Premium Sound System

OK i have the Premium system with Stock Volvo Amp under the seat, however i dont find this gives enuff Bass. So i bought a Fosgate P3 Sub + Kenwood Amp

I need to provide the Amp with:

1) Line In (Either RCA / Feed from Speakers

2) Power (Amp Turn-on Lead)

Ok as far as i understand becasue i have the Amp, the 6pin Din on the HU would be occupied to drive this. (Have not checked is this true?)

I want a Clean install and would rather not have to splice into those wires, incase i F*up the stock system

Here's what i'm thinking;

The Amp only seems to have 4 pairs of outputs, hence the Amp only drives Front Door L/R & Rear Door L/R, am i correct?

If so I'm thinking to

1) splice the Line-in into the Rear Parcel Shelf Speakers - this would be better as the amp has no remote,

2) Power - from rear cig ligter - I'm assuming this will be dead (no power) if key is not in correct position, or any better ideas?

Any poroblem you guys see from doing the above?

Also Where can i tap into the Rear Shelf Speakers from? had a quick look in the boot , but seemed connectins were hidden.

use your rear foglights switch to connect to the 12v for the amp so then you can turn the amp on and off when you want.

rear cigs if yoru talking trunk area is on all the time , the one behind the arm rest in the front is turned on when the car is on.

just make sure you get the best line output convert you can get and you will be good to go
