Guest Billoney
Hello, i have a 1996 volvo 850 in which im putting an Alpine IVA-D310. It says to hook up the foot brake line for the video feature to the volvos foot brake output. When i look under the dash i see a yellow four prong outlet attached to the brake with 4 wires coming out of it, red, yellow, yellow/blue, and some other color. I was interested in knowing which one of these wires is the brake switch output that i hook my foot brake line from alpine to? I voltages tested the yellow line and it had a small jump in voltage when the brake was applied so im thinking it may be that one, anyone confirm this? Thanks in advanced!! SteveO
Are You sure they aren't referring to the parking brake?
Guest billoney
no, im connecting my handbrake lead to a switch that ill operate manually. All i need is the color of the wire on the back of the foot brake switch which i will need to connect alpines footbrake lead. I basically need the wire that will tell alpine that ive hit my foot brake. If i had a wiring diagram i could just look at it but since i dont i need some of your help, thanks!! CAPT_BLOTTO
why does the alpine need to know your pressing the brake?

steve s
that's just alpine's method of guaranteeing that u don't watch video while u drive. it is wired thru the brake and hand brake iirc.here's ur solution.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Alpine-Vide...1QQcmdZViewItemi also used the antenna switch in conjunction with the black box. i wired it initially directly to the black box, then added the switch to the feed to the black box so i can turn off the video if i so choose. Guest Billoney
Yea, it is just there because you have to go through a sequence in order for it to run a DVD. I dont want the DVD part while im driving, just the bass and sound maps. I tried the pac tr-7 and it did nothing for me. Does anyone know the color of that wire??
