I really can't figger out why Joe is still driving a Volvo..... Buy yourself a Porsche GT3 and never come back here  :P

Soon. Soon. :)

I want to get myself a pure performance car which can rest in the garage on weekdays, but I need come to gripes with myself and sell this, first ( Between 1:45 and 2:00 )! The Volvo serves quality daily-duty for now. :)

S2000 13 seconds stock? Plain old E36 M3 from North America 13 seconds stock?

Come on, Joe ;) Now you're the one who's glorifying things... Weren't you on our side in the racing forum trying to say that S2000's with an average to good driver were at best like 14.5 cars? Ah well.

Sorry your car isn't the beast you secretly were hoping it would become... I'll let you drive mine one day if you come to Florida (not that it's all that great... but you can peg the 20 psi boost gauge without moving the car, so you can experience those elusive traction issues ;) ).

Enjoy the upgrade though...

Well than your car is really slow because my previous yellow T-5R blew the stuff out of a brandnew 350Z on the Dutch highway! It couldn't keep up in any gear or at any speed. As soon as I floored it he was vanishing in my rear mirror pretty fast. And he was really trying as we where doing +200 km/h at some times. But what can you expect from a Japanese car with a modified V6 Renault-engine under the hood???

Boxster?? Don't make me laugh, they are a joke and very easy victoms for a prepp'd 850 Turbo.

I prefer to let the track do the shit-talking. But as it stand now, a T5 with only an ECU and exhaust does not feel like it traps in the triple-digit range, and it will not keep up with cars that do so at speed. If I go to the track and suddenly go through the beams at 100+, I will gladly eat my words. But for right now, I won't be holding my breath.

I would expect 97-99 with my car. Maybe 100 if they gave me a running start...

I'll get my car to the track when I start driving it again in November. Until then I can just talk about foggy memories of beating Lightnings and such ;)

I'm glad you finally got your chip. I think you'll notice the improvement in a couple of days, I wasn't too impressed at first but then a couple days later I started to notice the difference from stock. Hey Rob I'm curious about your chip what kind of improvements can you make over my IPD chip?

Lightnings? Were they girls driving them??? Or just really terrible drivers??? Back when I was pulling 14.1 @ 99 my friend Doms Lightning could beat me all day long. At the track his truck was good for a 13.9 @ 101-102 bone stock, later on he added a pulley, chip, 3" exhaust, shorter gearing, Ford Motorsports CAI and headers, and a cowl induction hood, now his truck is screaming fast.

depends what year Lightning...i hear older ones (2000-2001 for example) arent all that fast. But we dont have lightnings here so I dont know much about them

cant comment on chips either because I dont have one yet...but will get a Rica chip in my for the rest stock T-5R manual in a couple of weeks.

You cant expect miracles from just a chip after all....its never going to give you a bazillion HP extra from only changing software. Personally I find that PPC stuff really expensive...

That's right... the earlier models only had 360 HP where the later ones they cranked up the boost a little to get around 380 HP, they also also greatly improved the aero dynamics making it faster, and more stable at high speed. My buddies is a later 380 HP one. I actually forgot about the earlier ones, I guess he could have beaten one of those.

Have you checked regular rica prices lately? Not the price you're getting .

And they don't have a Portable Programming Computer so you can tune/detune as you wish (yet) Wait till winter hits with all those extra horses at the ground ;)

----

As for there being no fast cars with BSR tuning ... That's stuff

Volflo's car is BSR tuned and he likes it. He's only going Rica because of the custom mapping that needs to be done (so I understood)

I know of a V70R AWD owner who had BSR stage 2, he went to rica when he got his 3" downpipe installed ... His comment, the car is not at all faster with the 3" down pipe and ricachip. He even feels it's SLOWER esspecialy top end.

All I mean is If you have a certain chip and you like it ... great, if you don't like it, try a different one if you have the cash.

There will always be a certain amount of fanboy bashing from one chip owner to another.

If I had a sh*tload of cash lying around I would buy every darn chip there is and try them all out and see what one I liked the best for my driving needs & car.

Unfortunatly i didn't (still don't for that matter ;) ) so I made an educated guess based upon given spec's comments from other owners etc etc.

No matter what these ECU discussions always turn out A vs B ... :(

I'm just giving Joe a hard time... Don't think I ever raced a lightning in my wagon. Though my friend's S2000 that I did beat (gasp) took one out.

(sorry for the aside)

Joe, all I'm saying is, the 350Z, S2000 and Boxster S are not 13 seconds cars stock...whether or not you could beat them depends on many different variables...

all I know is I've beaten a S2000, beaten a regular Boxster (by a lot, some might call it walked) and have not had the pleasure of racing a 350Z...though I have a feeling, it will be around the same as the S2000 race, close but eventually I pull....of course my 850 is not stock and more mods than yours, but again, I'm just declaring what I've personally accomplished...

Guest JoeBlows

Maybe Joe should've gone with the IPD Upgrade he so loudly bloviated about a year ago? Seems he may have does not keep to his own very outspoken priciples ?
