red c70
Can someone give me some guidance? I had purchased PBR metallic pads and installed them a year ago. They work fine but a couple days after a carwash they squeak to a horribly embarassing volume. These pads obviously suck. Is there any front pads that will not squeak at all and not really dust that much? I'm more concerned about the noise than the dust. I have the 99 c70 hpt coupe with 17" wheels. Your help is appreciated.Matt
Pauloil
these pads will make some noise, but are finemine are down to 3mm on my V70xc, and I'm going back to volvo pads next time.If i were you, i'd just live with it.
Guest 850T-5
Volvo pads are most rotor friendly and what I'd recommend running unless you don't mind noise or possible premature rotor contamination like many aftermarket or performance pads. Unfortunately, they do dust alot while thats the downside although it's still better to run them over most aftermarket pads.
jl2
I've had great performance from EBC Greenstuff pads. No noise, about the same (or a bit less) dust vs. Volvo stock. Excellent stopping power! BTW, I would suggest that you also change the caliper spring and use brake anti-squeal paste. Good luck.
Ihatespeedbumps
Unless you have upgraded lots of other brake components, volvo pads are great and will not squeek. Like other said, they do dust semi-badly though.
orbit2400
PBR Delux pads. I have logged more than 200K with these on my '98 S70 and 60k on my '01 XC. They have never squeaked on the fronts, but used to on the rears until I added plastic shims. They are also truly a non-dusting pad. I tried GreenStuff "low dusting" pads for a few months. They blackened the wheels just as much as stock pads.
dmelviØØ7
I work at a dealership and have never had a brake job come back due to squeaking, make sure you lube them on install though.
BearC70R
I run porterfields in all 4's. No noise, no brake dust issue like OEM, downfall $$$ and initial bite.
Reeves
I just put volvo pads all around my 99 V70R and they work great, no noise. I have found that aftermarket squeak when they get wet, the volvos very rarely do.
