Jaxx
Actually, i have always heard the contrary... how come other cars running far more HP are running air to air intercoolers?simple and a lot less stuff to break? with a water to air system you're going to have significantly lower charge temps - potentially lower than ambient. i dunno, its been a while since I've read max boost, but iirc water is what people like to use, while it isn't always practical. paulr
If you're going to run this in addition to an air-air intercooler, I'd put the pump on a switch for maximum control. I have seen temperature-activated switches on eBay for radiator fans, but most of them activate too high (150-190F) to be of any use. I don't know how many GPM the shur-flo is but I think some of the smaller ones are only like 1.8gpm and I don't know if that'd be enough. Anyway, it seems like you've done this before so...Air-Water works / doesn't work for the same reason: water will absorb a lot of heat from the charge, but it's also relatively difficult to get that heat back out of the water. The water isn't magic, you're still just moving heat around. It does however let you take advantage of different mounting locations, larger radiators, and things like ice in the water. Lower than ambient might be possible with a huge FMIC + air/water if you put lots of ice in the system, but would only happen for a minute or two till the ice melted. For the same reason you need an Air Conditioner on a hot day I don't see any other way to get the charge below ambient than that. On a car that's already tuned to the max dropping the intake temp another 3-5 degrees might be significant, but I'd guess the money would have better returns on almost any other mod that isn't installed. Anyway, good luck and let us know what it does to your HP / track times.PS the backpack for the nitrous bottle is pretty cool, especially with you actually being a fire fighter. socal850tuner
Except for the weight gain, it will be sick. You'll be like a weight lifter, strong as hell but cant move very fast. lol Just my opnion.
chaze1385
Maybe 35lbs or so, Probably had more than that in junk in the floor board, and trunk and the baby seat in the back. when i ran the 13.75. Should hold about 2.5 gallons of water which is about 20lbs, hoses about 2lbs, radiator 2lbs, intercooler about 5lbs. You know quite a few factory turbo and supercharged vehicles use air/water. socal850tuner
True... and another fun little thing you could do is put ice in the tanks b4 u run so that the water is even colder lol
