267 whp when I put the 16T on @ 17 PSI on my 850... was also running a straight pipe, samcos, dawes mbc, and that's about it.

17 psi ST Chip

stock bcs

stock exhaust and cat

160k miles

most of stage 0 done

210 fwhp

241 fwtq

Is the 16t that much more effiecent than the 15g or is it the exhaust? Or possibly inconsistentcy in the dynos?

I am also looking at what chip to get but im leaning more towards a RICA chip.

A RICA chip makes around 270 and its a $700 chip so im guessing a ST chip isnt as good. not saying you should go straight off of price, but an ST chip isnt even dyno tested. im sure it adds something to the HP but for an extra $300 you'd probably be better off with a RICA chip instead of having to gamble on what your getting for $350. just a thought.

Probably a combination, not to mention the 95 t-5r comes with a conical outlet whereas the 16T I had on was a straight outlet... not to mention 210whp on 17 PSI means he's got quite a bit of problems.

OK, everyone needs to stop saying the ST chip is not dyno tested. Either they're illiterate, ignorant, or a combination as I have testified numerous times with multiple dyno charts and even video in some cases on my initial findings with the ST chip.

There are a few revisions and it may take a couple to get your car dialed in but the chip does work and does a decent job once you get it dialed in. Furthermore, over 1/2 the time the problem isn't the software, instead it's the owner's car that's in piss poor condition with vacuum leaks all over the place or a clogged cat, worn o2s, dirty air filter, etc.

+1

eventually you'll stop trying to correct people and just peruse the boards like i do.

It speaks to logic that someone who buys one of the least expensive ECU upgrades would also keep their car in poor health.

In the very short future I'm going to get a 3" DP with 2.5" exhaust and then ST chip. I'll get some dynos and AFRs so all this talk can get put to bed.

do you think you can hold 17psi w/ the stock exhaust? no fucking way. that day i was hitting 15 psi and fading to 11. that is what happens w/ a restrictive exhaust...i have a 3" bsr downpipe, its just not on yet. once it is I will be able to hold more boost at WOT.

also, did you dyno on a mustang dyno? because i didnt.

So you claim to have a 17 PSI tune yet you peak 15 PSI and fade to 11 PSI  . On the factory exhaust I was peaking 18 PSI and holding 14 PSI to redline. I know several who have had similar observations to mine... as I said earlier take a closer look at your car. The dyno figures I quoted for my 850 were either from Dynojets in SAE or Dyno Dynamics.

Just sharing personal experiences. :)

If I am almost flooring it but not going completely WOT I can hit and hold 17psi, but if I go past that last little notch in the accelerator then I will hit 15 and fade to 11-12. You know others who have had similar experiences to you, but so do I. Several members also mentioned to me that the exhaust and d/p is too restrictive and my results are not abnormal. You said to take a closer look at my car, what do you suggest?

Yes, we all know others who have had similar experiences, that's how we can know a car is not in its optimal condition. I'd suggest pressure/smoke testing your vacuum system, pressure test the CBV (in case you haven't already replaced it with a blanking plate), and wastegate as well.

If the ST chip has been dyno tested then what is the HP on a stock engine?

also, how long does it take to get a car dialed in and how is it done?

You have to get the initial tune by sending your ECu to Oliver. He sends it back and you go to the dyno to get your AFR's and boost numbers mapped, then you send your ECU back to Oliver with that info and he changes the map. Repeat until its right.
