Hilton
I just found out that my brake lights don't light up when I'm stopping. I've checked the fuse and I know that the petal switch is working because I can a.) shift out of park, and b.) hear it click in the console when I push down the petal.I think it's a pretty slim chance that ALL of my brake lamps burned out at the same time. The "bulb burned out" light in the dash wasn't on until I removed one of the bulbs to check it's filament. Now it is illuminated. The filament was fine by the way.Any suggestions other than "set the car on fire and push it into a river" would be appreciated. Mike_P
It is the brake pedal switch. Just because you hear it click and you can shift doesn't mean it's working properly. Try resetting it (I think you pull it out all the way and then let the brake pedal ratchet it back in, you can search to make sure), if this doesn't work then you replace it, it's only like $35 from the dealer. I had the same problem last year and a new switch fixed everything.

303jrodt5
That click noise you are hearing is the Shiftlock Microswitch clicking in and out underneath the shifter assembly.
Hilton
The switch came in yesterday. Seriously, it took less than 5 minutes to replace. Now I've got brake lights. After I pulled out the old switch I was concerned because the old switch looked fine. I wish everything was this easy.
