SkyWriter
Your BOV will only go off when your throttle closes. Which is usually when you're slowing down, making it basically cosmetic. woooosh.the sound of defeat!
E_S80
TME exhaust? isn't that just dual endpipes? skip the TME and the BOV, get an ECU (RICA, or IPD) first, then see what you want to do.On TME's website it shows it as being a whole catback system, unless if they're lying....I know that an ECU tune is the best option for horsepower gains, but I really would like the car to sound a bit louder with an exhaust first. It's just so quiet even when you floor it and I'd like to car to sound as fast as it is. Plus I'd like the tranny to last as long as possible, and I'm already at about 75k miles. And the BOV was just a random idea. I was just seeing what other people thought of it. I know it would not add anything in terms of performance so it's just a personal preference on the sound.

Even if the system is a full catback system, they only add so much power (what my 5HP number was based on, a catback), especially without a matching tune. It's your car so obviously do what makes you happy, but you won't find a ton of people on here thinking a BOV or Exhaust for cosmetic purposes is a great idea. Why waste $$ sounding fast if you're not? You asked about performance benefits (minimal) and what we thought (waste of time and money). The money for a BOV could go into HIDS, New speakers or a HU, or probably a half-dozen other things which might actually make your life better (stage 0, part of an ECU, part of new rims, etc, etc, etc). The exhaust isn't too bad of a call, but just an exhaust by itself won't do much, so be aware it's not very high on the HP per $ list.
SkyWriter
On TME's website it shows it as being a whole catback system, unless if they're lying....which are you refering too? i can't find a T6 downpipe+exhaust on www.tme.com the only price for an S80 kit is the T5. the T6 takes two downpipes with two cat's, pretty expensive. Ferrita has a complete bolt on. and it's expensive.

They do offer downpipes but I'm just sticking with the catback for now.And then go to Products/Pricelist and you'll see:2186-60110S Stainl. 70 mm exhaust syst. 1999-2004 S80 T6 2x70 mm 3 360 SEK

Auburn T5
Catbacks from these companies seem like a colossal waste of money if you have a decent exhaust shop in town. Unbeknownst to me, there's a killer exhaust shop in my town that has done work on several local volvos, audi, porsche, etc and can make a full turbo back mandrel 3" SS exhaust for $800.If you don't have anyone local that can do that, get someone like CJ to build you one for what I would assume would be cheaper and better quality. I have IPD/MTE, but i would try RICA - parts@vivaperformance.com is the dealer in my area.
