Revo
Whenever I brake, the radio in my 98 V70 R fades to static. and then as soon I lift my foot of the brake it stops. Any ideas?
ViperVette
That is so weird! Maybe your rotors are magnetically charged and they are creating a E/M field that is enveloping your radio antenna!
BEJinFBK
If the brake lights and the antenna amp are grounded in the same place, that grounding point may have a problem.
crazykn
I remember there is a TSB about this issue... but it supposedly only affects AM radio. Looking at the TSB, i guess i was wrong, it was OPPOSITE of what u describe, in fact it is related to the rear brakes and its hub, where static electricity is building up and arcing... ... odd problemCheck the brake light wiring, especially around the antenna amplifier near the back of your wagon (on one of the side panels)... BEJinFBK
If the brake lights and the antenna amp are grounded in the same place, that grounding point may have a problem.Check the ground point behind the rear left tail light cover. The left brake light, the third eye and the antenna amp all groundthere. Pull the bolt, check for a lousy connection. Reassemble.

info2x
thx for all the tips,The problem seems to be at it's worse when it is very hot outside. If that's the case I'm going to say you have a bad ground like BEJinFBK said since hot weather would raise the resistance of a bad ground even further. Just my $.
