Feeler 1998 C70 Hpt Manual For Sale Ca

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

I'm certain I will be selling the C70, but I'm not sure when (within 2 months) and gauging interest here since I know it will be appreciated more to another Volvo enthusiast before just shipping the car off to CarMax. For sale is my 1998 C70 HPT Manual M56H, all options in black.

I am the third owner (I think), prior to my ownership the car was always serviced at a Volvo dealership, and I have most of the receipts of work. I choose to have the car serviced at an Indy shop that has serviced my previous car (1994 855). Here are some of the service history:

-Car is currently has 122,000 Miles, I purchased the C70 at ~67k Miles.

-Mobil1 5w-30 with MANN or Volvo Oil Filters during my ownership (Almost 3 Years, 55k Miles) Oil changed every 3 to 4k miles.

-New Radiator at 75,500mi

-Rear wheel shaft replaced at 76,000mi

-Front Motor Mount at 76,000mi

-Rear brake pads (Volvo) at 80,000mi

-Oil Sump seals replaced at 100,000mi

Oil pan seals at 100,000mi

-Timing belt and tensioner at 100,000mi

-Aux belt at 100,000mi

-IPD polyurethene engine mount 102,000mi

-Front passenger CV shaft replaced 104,000mi

-End links at 104,000mi

-Front brake rotors (Brembo) and pads (Volvo) 104,000mi

-Eibach springs and Bilstein Shocks (TC in front, HD in Rear) were installed at approx. 104,000mi I bought these used off Prasmin.

The engine was replaced by the second owner back at ~56,000 miles by Orange County Volvo, a service cost of over 10K was invest to put the new/rebuilt engine in (which I have receipts to).

You guys are probably wondering why the rear wheel shaft was replaced, and that is because I was involved in an accident(not with another car, slid down a mountain pass), where the rear passenger axle had to be replaced (bent), rear passenger quarter panel was repaired (people don't believe me when I tell them the car was repaired on the rear quarter panel), and the front fog lights, front bumper is damaged. I have not repaired the front bumper, but it doesn't look too bad. The fog lights and tow cover is also missing. This accident occurred at approx 72,000mi. Once the car was repaired, I have had three service centers (Bozzani Volvo, South Bay Volvo, Swedish Car Clinc) inspect the car and found no problems. THE FRAME WAS NOT BENT.

Another thing to note is that there is a slight clicking sound coming from around the motor when the engine is hot which I paid Bozzani Volvo over $800 to inspect. Had the Oil sump seals replaced twice, Oil pan seals twice and had the car rigorously inspected. The sound does not occur when the engine is cold, so they believe it's just the fuel injectors (which are known to be loud, as most of you know) and not a mechanical issue. I've driven the car over 45k miles with this sound and the engine doesn't miss a beat.

The car runs great, although a new clutch would probably be a good idea in the future. The C70 exhibits a wind noise on the freeway (55MPH or higher) on the drivers side door which is common on C70s. The sunroof is operational, but you have to push the glass up for it to fully close after the glass is fully opened (not outward but into the car?) The car also has some of the interior noises the C70 is known for. However the interior is in much better shape than 3 other C70's I've ridden in. Other than that the brakes work good, car accelerates smooth, everything works other than the fog lights because they are missing :P

I've tried to be as accurate as possible, but there may have been things that I have missed. CAR WILL COME WITH CANISTO WHEELS OR COMETS (for $500 more to the asking price below) HIDS, IPD EXHAUST, IPD GRILL, JEWEL HEADLIGHTS, PROPUS WHEELS HAVE BEEN SOLD AND WILL NOT COME WITH THE CAR.

Now that I've finished writing the story of my life, here are the pictures that most of you will fast forward to :P

Please keep in mind this is a 9 year old car and some blemishes, spots, dents are present although the paint looks flawless in the pictures.
