giantrobot9000
That's a huge price difference (on FCP Groton's site) for the oem Volvo 850 Turbo plugs ($32 for a set of 5) vs. the Bosch Copper ($7.50 for a set). Many people say that the OEM plugs really do work better.I'd hope so! Do you agree?

Dmsee
OEM are good plugs. I have seen them go 100K and still working. Go to the dealer and get them. They should be the same price as on FCPAnd if you dont have any mods. OEm is the best way to go

7 VII 7
you really can not go wrong with OEM plugs... that is what I am using when I do my tune up next month
Guest 850T-5
GuaranteedBosch Coppers suck in comparison, I've tried them. OE will perform best, last the longest, be the most reliable, give you the best MPG, smoothest operation over almost any other plug, especially off the shelf aftermarket BOSCH plugs. I've also seen OE plugs look and still work perfectly fine with nearly 100K on them on a couple of occasions so being they "could" last that long definately makes it worth it. Ihatespeedbumps
Absolutely the OEM's are better. Unless you have a really high boost setup I would use nothing but OEM's.
giantrobot9000
My dealer wants $41 for the plugs,so I'm getting them from good 'ol FCP Groton. Thanks for making up my mind for me. :D
Guest 850T-5
Don't buy BOSCH Copper plugs unless you don't mind buying crap and settling for reduced MPG and smoothness compared to OE. Just ask the parts people when you go down there if they have any room to play with the price because they're a little pricey. Usually the parts people have a bottom line price shown in the computer that they are allowed to sell them for where they might be able to sell them to you for $25-$29 anyway so ask first. I always get any OE parts I need at a discount. Quality has become really bad and many BOSCH coppers are now even made in India I have read. They are known to suffer premature failure. I have heard several stories. I've also tried them and trust me the OE plugs were noticeably better. If you really want to cheap out you'd be far better off going down to your local Kragen, Checkers, Advance Autoparts and buying Champion Platinum Plugs. They are copper core and the closest match to OE turbo plugs. They only cost like a couple bucks each and will work way better and last longer than BOSCH copper plugs. caliwagon
I've run the OEM and the Bosch plugs and IMHO they perform about the same. MPG, idle, performance are all equal according to my evaluations, and I'm chipped. Save your money--Bosch has been making spark plugs for a long time. troyhyde
If you haven't plunked your money down yet, just go buy some Champion RC7GYC plugs from Napa. I think I paid less than a dollar per. (or right around a dollar per)They are OEM.No reason to pay 10 times as much for a Volvo ink stamp. I run mine at .025 gap.My challenge to all who want to overpay for dealer plugs - if you try these and can tell any difference, I will buy you a steak dinner. Never cared much for Bosch plugs...
