While I'm At It?

Recommended Posts

So, as "stage 0" approaches for my 1995 855 T5, O2 sensors are next on the list. While an IPD tune is in the future, nothing is imminent. No turbo changes are forth coming, as my 15G is strong and in excellent shape, spindle is tight, no leaks rattles or whines. EST catback and intake installed. So the question is: Does it make sense to install a wide band kit and gauge (redundant?) if I'm dropping a C-note any way? Cool factor B) in the cockpit is a factor 'cause I am installing a boost gauge (any input on that?). What's another 3 Benji's any way?

You really only need it if you are doing a lot of custom changes. It can be helpful to diagnose a problem, but usually the ECU can throw a code for that also on just the stock setup. Since you are planning on just using the 15G and stock injectors, the WB would be just for the "cool factor".

I'd say spend those 3 benji's on a set of samco turbo hoses and (if you're automatic) a transmission temp gauge/transmission cooler first, before you go into the wideband and chipped scene.

Ah, you set me straight again Joseph. Zappo got me right too. so Bosch sensors it is. WB not cool enough for 3 bills, and tranny cooler makes sense. Can you get a cooler/sensor/ gauge kit? As far as boost gauge is concerned, I see some have vac also. Is that to detect a leak or pressure loss in vac lines? I have little surprise coming for my IC hoses Joseph, and I can't wait.
