hi hows it going i have a 1995 850 non turbo. ..about three months ago..i changed the rotors and the brake pads, the car ran fine, but about a week ago i got a flat tire so i stopped by a tire shop and bought a used tire...and moved the tire to the rear and moved one from the rear up front...and got them balanced...and now when i brake the car stops fine and then the last couple of feet it vibrates like crazy its like the car is being massaged... can this be from that tire since it is used and does look a little worn out..thanks

if they were properly balanced. the tire doesn't have any defects and your rims aren't bent, shouldn't be the tires. however, you say they look a little worn out, so I'd start there first then. Rotate it back to the rear and the rear to the front, see if there is any change to confirm that it is or isn't a tire and/or wheel related issue.

If there is no change I'd try the rotating the other side to see if there is any change.

if not then I'd look at the brakes. vibration just while braking is "usually" brake rotors or possibly suspension and could just be coincidental. generally with a tire, the vibration would also be noticeable when cruising on a smooth surface on the freeway at freeway speeds. an indication of it being brakes is generally if you feel also feel a pulsation in the brake pedal when applying the brakes at times.

when you did your brakes did you use OE or Mintex pads? If not alot of aftermarket pads will cause premature rotor contamination where you'll get vibration all of a sudden.

Also if you used autoparts store type or cheap rotors they don't tend to last very long. It's very important to use OE or OE equivilant stuff for Volvo brakes being they tend to be pretty hard on rotors where most aftermarket stuff just doesn't hold up very well in most cases. If you didn't then brands to buy are Genuine Volvo, Mintex pads, ATE and Brembo rotors.

i used auto part store brand, i believe bendix pads but iam not sure the brand of the rotors. I drove three months and they were fine though, and the braking only happens like twice in a day or something, and the brake pedal does not pulsate, but the steering wheel does shake slightly at like 70mph. I checked the ball joints, they are fine, i had changed my strut mounts, and i had recently changed the stabilizer link, but i think he did mention a bent rim, that he moved to the rear, do you recommend i buy new four tires or what should i do thanks, and the tire that he put in is worn inside.
