Why Fcp Groton Is The Worst Company

Recommended Posts

FCP is the $hit. Noone can compete where their prices. I had one mistake made when they forgot a part, but they appologized and got it to me next day.

Small price to pay when you compare the actual dollars saved. And if I were Nick at FCP and saw this post, I wouldnt give your money back anyway after badmouthing their name in a forum that brings in a LOT of their business

Hi guys i bought a front bearing hub assembly from fcpgroton on ebay which states that you will either recieve, brand name skf or fag bearing hub which is the orignal supplier to volvo. Well i recieved a shitty scan-tech brand one and when i called nick, he said they rebox them in scan-tech boxes but they are really skf or fag. What does he really think people are that stupid to fall for that crap. I am sorry but this company has tried to pull one too many fast ones on the community, from what i have read and myself. My question is, i will be sending this shitty scan-tech brand back tomorrow and was wondering where i can get a real skf for the best price. I already have all the hardware, so i just need the main front hub assembly. Thanks

I have been a FCP customer for a while, and I must say that they have been a very reliable supplier. Sometimes they go great lenghts to help out finding parts that are not in their list. Also, whenever something was wrong, they promptly took very satisfactory corrective action.

If Nick Bauer says the part is FAG or SKF in spite of being in a Scantech Box, I will believe him outright and will look the part and see if I can find the markings. And if I don´t find I am sure Nick will get it back and send you the correct one.

I just realized... this all may seem as criticism, but everyone really just means well and doesn't want you to give up on this company. I'd know, because I posted similarly, and got a lot of criticism for downplaying FCP.

A few months ago, I got some new springs for my car.. scantech... and they sent me the wrong springs under the correct part number. I had them installed, taken out, and replaced with the free replacements they shipped me. I was really pissed that I spent all the money on installation, removal, re-installation. They DID mess up in sending the wrong springs, but they really wanted to help. They offer no warranty on installation... but they threw me $50. I was still pissed... it cost a lot more than $50 to have the springs on, but I've had so many great orders from FCP since.. that was my only problem.

Just wanted to let you know that this happened to me before... everyone just loves FCP too much to let a topic like this go unnoticed  and people will criticize you for criticizing FCP because people love that company (including myself)

well it's easy to confirm if he's telling the truth, look closely at the wheel bearing and look for SKF or FAG engraved on it somewhere.

FCP is known for pulling that kind of crap although they've been good to me otherwise. I've ordered brand name items a couple times and received ScanTech. I've also seen emails where they've told people that a certain ScanTech part such as a transmission or engine mount was made in the same factory, even those that I know it's not true.

ScanTech is ONLY OE rebrands maybe a quarter of the time, the rest of the time they are lesser quality products. This is why ScanTech steering, suspension components, mounts and more tend to almost always fail prematurely.

Could be an honest mistake but I'm sure they've been called on it and they should be a little more upfront regardless of how great their service is otherwise.

This is why I tend to go with eeuroparts.com or thepartsbin.com not to mention the free UPS ground shipping on all orders $50.00 or over.

Well the problem was taken care of today, so this thread can be closed, i am just getting my money back and shopping elsewhere. Thanks to all your guys input but i believe groton to be a decent company for some things, but my only point of this thread is that if your going to advertise something as skf or fag, that is what you should be recieving when you get it. Its like ordering a volvo and getting a chevy, just be honest with your customers and give them what they paid for, i realize scan-tech suspension parts are junk from many threads, and i do know they manufacturer hub assemblies, so the rebox story is not valid. I just dont feel like rechanging them in 4000 miles, haha. Thanks

Yes i was lied to about the part and i expect to get the brand i pay for as the auction stated

Have fun at the dealer!!!!! Make sure you ask for extra-retail prices just to be sure you get the FRESHEST parts in their bin too. Always squeeze and smell the radiator hoses before you buy. Choose the most aromatic with the darkest blacks and the most rubbery feel. Stay away from fading ones that feel dry and don't seem soft.
