Why Fcp Groton Is The Worst Company

See you obviously don't understand, THIS IS NOT one of those well I had a good experience, I had a bad experience issues. My opinion is that they aren't a good company or they are. We're talking pretty widely undisputed fact here that not only, me, turbomax have experienced but a couple other people I know and I have read about this happening to others.

It's an issue of something even many with good experiences will admit FCP does and not even try and deny No one is denying it and everyone is trying to look past that and say it's ok because they have had good experiences otherwise or they have a good return policy.

Where are all the stories of being surprised substituted crap ScanTech parts from thepartsbin.com and eeuroparts.com? I could give you plenty about FCP and I know two other people besides turbomax, just myself that will tell you the same thing. Again, hell, even most of the people that love FCP won't deny that this is something they do.

Again, it's been going on for years and it even more messed up because you can get actual OE quality parts from the other vendors mentioned for the same prices and they won't surprise substitute crap like ScanTech, which in many cases is substandard in quality, especially after free ground shipping.

They have been doing this for years, and I have heard about this happening to others. It's a fact plain and simple. Again, this is what FCP does and continues to do. If you think it's acceptable then just flat out admit it, don't try and argue, twist it around or accuse others of doing it.

The "legal systems" term for this is "bait and switch". Maybe they are like Crazy Eddies Electronics was in New York City with millions in cash stuffed in the cielings.

Wow, this a tough crowd.

I will stick to something a little more simple.

I replaced the front wheel bearing hub assemblies on my 95 850 wagon last year, at 126,000 miles.

Not sure if they were bad, but it seemed as though that was causing the hum and vibration in the front end. As it turns out, the tires were in need of replacement. After that, all was quiet.

I bring this up because I recently got in an accident, slight left front damage, and after that (okay, the accident was in April) and I notice now, I have that hum at around 40 miles an hour. I have 139k on it now. I too bought the parts from FCP originally, and I am not sure if the accident caused premature failure or inferior parts. Can an accident cause this?

I think Nick, and FCP are great, I get all my parts from them. I now live in San Antonio, and I will still purchase from them.

Just wondering if it's related to the accident.

Yes, absolutely an accident can screw up a wheel bearing.

I think that this is a valid discussion. Personally I've had overwhelmingly positive experiences with FCP and I'm glad they are there, but I have had parts other than what i ordered show up. I also think it is great to call them out on product bait and switch, which is definitely what is going on. The bottom line will be that this thread has opened the eyes of many here to alternatives that they might not have otherwise been aware of or as eager to avail themselves of. This will have a financial impact on FCP in terms of future sales to members of this board. What that impact will be remains to be seen, but it probably won't increase sales. But hey, it appears to be a thought out part of FCP's business model and they must be willing to live with the consequences. Also, its not like Nick can't get on this board and defend his policies if he chooses and have an impact on this conversation and his future sales.

The bearing I had replaced was totally worn out. Didn't turn freely, just a grinding and binding. No idea why or how it could have lasted this long. It was a FAG bearing. Again, it must have been the accident, though the dealer said the bearing might not have been new.

I'm riding smooth and quiet now.

The accident was the first thing that crossed my mind when the dealer told me something was wrong. At first I thought they were crazy, since it had only been 13k since I changed them both.

As far as FCP Groton goes, they have been topnotch with me. On one occassion I did receive the wrong part, but they sent me the correct one, and prepaid the shipping back on the wrong one.

I have bought parts from others such as VLVWorld and IPD. I have had pretty good luck with all of them, but Nick is usually where I go when I can't find it elsewhere. Definitely cheaper than the dealer. Speaking of the dealer, you would think in San Antonio TX, the nations 8th largest city, there would be more than one dealer, but no. And it pretty popular out here.

I will explore eEuroparts though. I am open to any and all parts suppliers.

I've dealt with FCP quite a bit, probably more than the average user here. Nick is a prick. Their service is average and you could order the same thing 20 times and receive it in 3 different packages with 3 different name brands. Their prices aren't that great either.
