O2 Sensor Debate Rages On

Recommended Posts

I just installed Bosch Universal 4 wire O2 sensors. p/n 15727 was installed precat, p/n 15738 postcat, per vendors fitment guide. Used their splice/connector kit. No CEL's, no operational, issues so far. We'll see after 100miles or so when ECU is done with adaptives (disconnected neg battery terminal), I will report back after. So far no problems took 2 hours and cost me < $150.00 total. B)

P.S. 15738 can also be used pre cat per vendors fitment guide. 15727 was about $55, 15738 was about $85.

Zappo, you're the one that got me to take the chance B) and forego the OEM with plugs, minimum $200 for both. If the sensors the same, and Bosch of course, than who am I to pay extra simoleans for a wire harness or plug? I install electrical/electronic equipment for a living so I was very comfortable doing this. Nothing special on the splice stuff, the plug and splice kit they provide is very good, near Mil Spec. Having done work on military as well as consumer grade electronics, I can assure you the only better way would be soldering and waterproof shrink tube. This was easier. I figured that all the cash I saved from this site on labor and nonstealership prices got me my Koni FSD's!!! I will continue to be a Supporting Member, worth every penny. Now I just gotta meet some of you Yo's.

I did this last year. Have at least 8000 miles on the car with no problems.

I'm such a douche. I angered the gods by being so cocky, they gave me a CEL to humble me :( . 110 miles was what it took. I'll read the computer tomorrow and get the code. Damn. The car starts better, idles better, has better throttle response, and that f'ing orange light...What could be the problem with sensors? AAAARRRGGGHHHH!!!
