killamike553
I have a 2005 s60r (which i believe a made a mistake in another thread and stated it was a 2006) but anyways the question I have is if I can install an after market blow off valve such as an hks sqq without having problems with the ecu? killamike553
thanks. will i need to do any other mods like the chip in order not to get an error code?
Jaxx
from what I recall, it hasn't been a problem. you're going to run rich when you let off the gas, but it isn't a huge deal because you're not on the throttle. basically its thinking theres still that air there when its being vented to the atmosphere. (gives 'correct' amount of fuel for that air, yet it isn't there, so it runs rich)hope that helps,-Jackson
killamike553
Yea thanks, I have an old hks ssqv sitting around and i figured i would make use of it. Just in case I do get an error code and decide to put the stock pipe back, how do i reset the ecu? I know in some cars you disconnect the battery for a couple minutes and it will reset is this the case with volvo's?
Jaxx
from what I've seen, yes. just make sure you have the radio code if it is the stock radio.

Jaxx
radio code for the radio/head unit. as a anti-theft feature you are required to put in a code. you can get it from your dealer. IT IS FREE!!! Don't let them tell you other wise.

flyfishing3
i've had my Head unit out many times on my 04R and haven't needed a radio code. can't say for sure on a 05 but i'd assume all is well.there are two fuses you can pull on a 04 to quickly clear out the battery juice in the system. 05+ changed them so not sure what to tell you other than pull the battery and let it sit for some time.If you have a GT the car will shift differently than when you first started driving it. it has a adaptive tranny.mike
