killamike553
Thanks, I took the volvo in for service a while back because I had the service display on but when I got the car back from the dealer they didnt get rid of the display so I disconnected the battery and it seemed to reset everything but the display is still there. I did feel that the car drove differently for a bit so I know now from your statement that it did reset the ecu but why the "take the car in for service" display is still there I have no clue, maybe I have to get the radio code like Jaxx said. flyfishing3
if you had an oil change done. it looks like they didn't reset the service light. it comes on every 7k. what exactly does it say.mike
RedTurbo850
I'm pretty sure having a BOv will void your warranty. So think about it....
killamike553
^ yea i was thinking that I might buy that same plastic i/c pipe and cut that one or that one already in the car and just switch them out when I go in for service and that same with the vac. lines if i decide to run the stock bypass and the hks ssqv together. any idea how much that piece of i/c pipe would cost from the dealer? killamike553
I am pretty sure the one in the 05 and above are plastic so i would have to get a custom aluminum pipe with the flange welded onto it or get the 04 pipe and weld the flange onto it
RedTurbo850
.......NOIS this sarcasm or you actually don't think it will? You know if they see that you chipped your car, they dont' even touch it?

Guest Guest_don kalmar union_*
I have a 2005 s60r (which i believe a made a mistake in another thread and stated it was a 2006) but anyways the question I have is if I can install an after market blow off valve such as an hks sqq without having problems with the ecu?You should not fit a dump valve/BOV to any of Volvo's post '99 turbo cars that are fitted with the Bosch ME7 ECU. These ECU's react very badly to the presense of one of these devices as they rely on very precise and related readings from the various sensors on the inlet tract.Regards, Don.norchi.www.kalmar-union.com

killamike553
^ what if i recirculate the hks bov back into the system? Or I have no choice but to put a chip in it before I can install a bov?
Johann
^ what if i recirculate the hks bov back into the system? Why? There is a recirc valve already..And this valve has proven to be capable enough to handle the power of a fully tuned R with the stock turbo. Lets say 350 HP at the crank. It also worked without a flaw with an internally K26 spec updated turbo making close to 370 HP at the crank.
grnmachine02
IS this sarcasm or you actually don't think it will? You know if they see that you chipped your car, they dont' even touch it? i work at a dealer. to void your warranty they have to prove that whatever modifacation you did is the direct cause of failure for whatever compononent. and i work on chipped cars all the time. it all depends on the dealer
killamike553
I just wanted the "sound" of the bov to scare old people lol but I see now that I would have to put a chip in order to do that which will give me a gain of 20 hp if i am correct, a basic ram air intake, and an exhaust. what other mods can I do to get some power out of her without having to go with a bigger turbo or any other "major" modifications?also how much power will the auto tranny hold?and the k26 spec you speak of, I am assuming they basically change the internals of the turbo, such as the impeller but keep the housing?thanks, mike
