Oreo931
We took some at the Lehman Volvo meet a while back, but the kid who took them has been really busy and hasnt been able to upload the pics. Here is what I can tell you though. We compared two cars, an 850R with Jewel headlights and an s70 t5 with stock headlights. The 850R had the sharphid 5000k 35watt kit and the s70t5 had the sharphid 5000k 55watt hid kit. During the DAYTIME the 55watts were bright as hell. I was very skeptical at first and thought the difference would only be minimal, but JESUS CHRIST those things are bright. I dont even think you could get the whole difference across in pictures, but I promise you that you will not be disappointed...I havent ever seen lights that bright.the owner of the s70 had also been pulled over because his headlights werent aimed properly and they were blinding everyone lol. Boosted5cyl
Ok, I"m a bit HID retarded, I think the ballast are what the actual bulbs plug into and can be changed out from the stock headlights correct ? Now how about projectors, the super cool and expensive headlights ~ those are jeweled or what have you right and you need to pick whatever color and brightness level that suits you for those correct ? Anyone have pics of the different temps or intensities for demo purposes ? Some clarification on this stuff would be grand !

Some clarification on this stuff would be grand !There is a gallery on my website with different housings, temps, and wattage. The ballasts are what powers the bulbs - the bulbs connect via wire and plug into the stock position in the headlight. You don't need projectors or jewels in order to have HIDs. Projectors are by far the most recommended headlight housing upgrade as they will have the sharpest cut off and direct light more cleanly where it needs to go. leurven
+2Someone had a comparison picture somewhere but I don't think I ever downloaded it. I don't know of two people who live close enough together who have taken a comparison picture. If anyone is able to that would be much appreciated. I'll be installing a 50w kit in my fogs soon so I will have a 35w lowbeam and 50w fog comparison - not the same but may help.

Oreo931
Car on the left is an 850R with jewel headlights and the 35watt 5000k kit. Car on the left is an s70t5 with the 55watt 5000k kit.It might be hard to tell from the picture, but please, take my word for it...The 55watt kit is SO MUCH brighter in person. It was literally blinding during the day. If I could afford it I would definitely buy a set.
